Top 4 movies and series to watch this week
Heartstopper (Season 3)
Released on Netflix is 3 October, 2024 (Thursday)
It’s hard to convey how much of an internet sensation Heartstopper has become. This new season has taken some time to arrive, but fans will finally get to enjoy every episode by the end of this week. Based on Alice Oseman’s novels, the third season of this series is coming with new faces and significant challenges for our main characters, led by Joe Locke (who is currently also seen in Agatha All Along) and Kit Connor.
The Platform 2
Released on Netflix is 4 October, 2024 (Friday)
The Platform was released on Netflix in 2019, and it was truly a shocking film. Not only was its concept incredibly gripping and disturbing, but it was also beautifully acted and neatly packaged. Therefore, when the sequel was announced, it came as a big surprise, as it is now part of Netflix’s major Halloween lineup this year. Creating a sequel to this Spanish-language film is a significant challenge, but from the clips we’ve seen so far, it seems that director Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia has managed to pull it off successfully.
Featuring new talent like Natalia Tena, this new entry will clock in at 99 minutes and will slightly change the format of the vertical prison. Although we don’t know how it will end, by the time it’s over, our fingernails will likely be shorter!
Making it in Marbella (Season 1) Netflix Original
Released on Netflix is 1 October, 2024 (Tuesday)
It’s undeniable that property shows are trending these days, and Netflix’s latest offering is Making It In Marbella, a six-part TV series coming in October. Following the typical property show formula, Making It In Marbella focuses on a group of real estate agents working in the luxury market. The show will document the brand’s most glamorous deals.
The official summary of the series is: “In the most luxurious area on the sunny Spanish coast, Swedish real estate brokers earn millions by selling stunning homes to the rich and famous. The series revolves around Homerun Brokers and the firm’s young agents as they navigate their personal and professional lives.”
Making It In Marbella will have six unscripted episodes, releasing in 12 different languages, including English, Swedish, French, Spanish, German, and Italian, starting October 1. This Netflix series promises a combination of stunning properties and high-octane office drama.
The Amazing Digital Circus (Season 1 – Episode 1-3)
Released on Netflix is 4 October, 2024 (Friday)
The animated YouTube series from the Australian animation studio GLITCH is now coming to Netflix while also remaining on its original platform. This animated series, which has attracted millions of views, may look cute on the outside, but it is not intended for children. The series has been described as a “psychological dark comedy about cute cartoon characters who hate their lives and want to escape from it.”
All three episodes (including a new episode that has not yet been released on YouTube) will be available on Friday, with more episodes to follow in the future.
We will not be including the list of movies leaving this week in our post because we want to keep this post at a reasonable length, and we are tracking all the departures for October here.
