Beverly Hills Cop Axel F Movie Review & Story
Story
In Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, the story follows Axel Foley, the wisecracking Detroit detective, who returns to Beverly Hills after a long time. Here’s a concise summary of the storyline:
Axel Foley is shown in action in Detroit, chasing criminals who are robbing an ice hockey stadium using an earth mover. His chaotic pursuit ends with significant property damage but captures the criminals.
Axel’s daughter, Jane Saunders, a lawyer in Beverly Hills, becomes entangled in a legal case involving a young man accused of being a “police killer.” Jane believes the man is innocent and that he is a victim of a larger drug operation involving corrupt police officers.

Axel reunites with old friends from the Beverly Hills Police Department, including Billy Rosewood and John Taggart, and teams up with a new detective, Bobby Abbott. Together, they investigate the case and uncover a conspiracy within the police force.
The investigation reveals a dangerous drug cartel and a corrupt police network, complicating the case and increasing the stakes. Axel also deals with personal challenges and the complexities of reconnecting with his daughter.
Axel, alongside his allies, navigates through numerous obstacles, including intense action sequences and confrontations with villains. The film culminates in a dramatic showdown as Axel attempts to resolve the case and protect his daughter.
Overall, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F blends action, comedy, and nostalgia while addressing themes of family and justice

Review
The third installment of the film Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1994, and its sequel has only now come out in 2024. Yes, making a sequel 30 years later is quite a bold move. But when you have a skilled producer like Jerry Bruckheimer, his name alone is enough to pull it off.
Jerry’s specialty lies in being so adept at making sequels to old hit films that he seems to have an instinctive sense of when, where, how, and which film should have a sequel and which stars to cast. After Top Gun Maverick, Beverly Hills Cop Axel F further proves his expertise.
Actor Eddie Murphy must have been around 22 years old when he first dazzled the big screen in 1984 as the iconic character Axel Foley. The film was Beverly Hills Cop, and back then, Hollywood films were not released in India in such large numbers, but the demand for its VHS tapes was very high.
Now, the fourth installment of this film franchise has been released directly on OTT. After watching it, you’ll feel like watching it on the big screen again, and it’s safe to say that after the franchise lost its way with the middle two films, this one marks a vibrant and spectacular comeback for the character of Axel Foley.
Mark Molloy and the film’s writing team have crafted Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F from the very first frame with its unique identity in mind. Axel returns to the screen after three decades, and from the first scene, this nostalgia is skillfully connected with the audience and presented before them.
Mark and his team pick up the story exactly where they could place Axel right in the middle of the action. An ice hockey match, a robbery plan, a chase through the city with a JCB, bikes, and cars. After that, the film barely gives the audience a chance to catch their breath. The movie is designed for the big screen, so watching it on a big TV is still fine, but its impact is significantly reduced when viewed on a mobile or laptop.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F Movie Acting Performance Review
The script is very simple, but it’s Murphy who makes the film entertaining with his performance. It wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say that the entire film rests on Murphy’s shoulders, and he reminds us why he was such a big star once upon a time. Age has definitely taken its toll on him; he still looks great, but the energy isn’t what it used to be. Nevertheless, there’s enough here to make you smile and laugh, especially if you have a fondness for the previous films in the franchise.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Taylour Paige appear as Murphy’s sidekicks in the film, and they do a fine job. However, it does make you wonder why Levitt never truly became a big star, especially given that he’s such a great actor and has worked in some amazing films throughout his career; it seems he’s still waiting for that huge breakthrough film, and so are we.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F Movie Conclusion (All Over Impact)
In Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Axel Foley’s emotional ties with familiar faces resurface frequently, and this time, his direct blood relation also helps strengthen his character.
Axel puts in a lot of effort and action to transform his strained relationship with his daughter, Jane Sanders, into a more positive one. It seems to be working out, but where there’s a police story, criminal chatter, and action, twists and conspiracies are bound to appear. The film keeps the audience engaged with its clever plot twists until the very end.
Beverly Hills Cop Axel F feels like a reunion of Eddie Murphy and his old companions. It’s a perfect weekend movie to watch while sitting comfortably on your couch, eating popcorn. For those in their fifties, this hero from their youth will surely bring back fond memories.
